Hello Beautiful people,
Hope you all are charged up with spirit of love as we celebrate hearts day today. Give love and spread positivity not only today but always, that’s the only way for humanity to survive. Enjoy being in love. Did you all read about our first flight experience, not the best of all but we made it and that’s what matters.
And we landed in Melbourne. Done with immigration. Took a cab and viola off to the central business district (CBD) which in my opinion is the heart of Victoria, Melbourne
Whiffs of fresh air and lush green scenery on both sides welcomed us during our cab journey. Trams around the city took me back to my childhood days in Moscow, oh memories. So while breathing in through the green trees and extremely tired with a disturbed timeline, we reached our apartment which was sulked in blue and white hues, nice grey comfort sofas and with a good sized balcony which had an amazing view of surrounding neighbourhood and buildings hovering over Yarra River accompanied by Batman-Park, side to side.
So after taking a small nap, we were off to explore the neighbourhood. Yeah, that’s our style, the very first day we try to discover food joints where the locals eat, grocery stores and ways to go around safely and cheaply. We were in a free tram zone, which covers the whole CBD district & allows you to hop on and off to explore and find hidden gems. .
Tip: If you wish you travel outside the CBD , you need to buy a myki card which is easily available on 7 Eleven (grocery store).
As I mentioned earlier we were living in an apartment, so we decided we’ll eat breakfasts at home, so we made our way to Coles ; bought eggs, bread, tea, milk – essentials for breaky mainly.
We walked and walked, indulging in the old charm of the city, with people walking around, trams making their way and sun light filtering its rays through trees and skyscrapers.. I posted a casual stroll picture on my insta earlier, which kind of captures the moment and feeling.
After walking for miles, our stomachs started to rumble and grumble, so we embarked on our next challenge. Yes, to find Halal food. Well, it was not that difficult as we thought as we had many halal food joints right down our building. If you are looking for a cheap meaty option, you have CBD Kebabs – which we tried first! I loved the snack box, that comes with meat, fries and a drink. Hubby ordered his own version of doner sandwich. Let me tell you this though the quantity was amazing, so for us even one would have worked. .
After picking up our food, we made our way to Batman park which was adjacent to our apartment. In six years, it was the very first time we sat in a park with so much greenery and lots of birdies to greet us. As raw as it can be, we spread hubby’s jacket on the grass and laid Athena on it and enjoyed our food with birds all around us.
After a long haul flight and endless exciting walks made us tired eventually. So we decided to call it nigh and head back to our apartment… got comfy in our pj’s and sat down in balcony to relax.
W H A T H A P P E N D N E X T? will share in our next post. To be continued … 😀
Till then Digital Family signing off for now to enjoy rainy weather in Dubai.
Much Love xx
