How are you all? I am sure you all are enjoying the Holiday season to the most. With such an amazing weather, make sure you take your loved ones out. Every season, no matter what the occasion is; Dubai has a lot of options for everyone. Yesterday Athena and I, went to experience the magical festive season at Madinat Jumeirah with the return of the Souk Festive Market.
This winter festival runs from 17 – 27 December and offers family entertainment including daily visits from Santa, an ice rink, a reindeer rodeo, the North Pole Train and stilt walkers. To make this festive celebration even sweeter, the Lindt Master Swiss Chocolatier will perform live cooking demonstrations. Spread across 5,000 square metres of extended platform and across the Souk Amphitheatre.
For all new momies out there, I know we all think twice before leaving the house for any event and I have been appreciated for doing it nicely so far. So I thought it would be nice to share some inspiration. What works for me?
- Okay, so first and foremost, it’s you and bub we are talking about <3 I mean the best hangout ever. So, don’t think it is difficult or your life has changed and bla bla bla negativity! I know the challenge is there but then this challenge is much more rewarding than any other, right? so You Go Mama 😉
- Feeding? Well, I have sure shot formula “Myself” 😛 haha yes I nurse her completely so I don’t think its that big of an issue. Firstly don’t be shy to nurse your bub in public, and (it’s totally allowed by the way, in Dubai and everywhere). I carry nursing cover with me, that works for me. And I do express as well, which has sorted my life in so many ways. I carry a cooler container and on-the-go water thermos which allows me to warm her milk immediately.
- Baby Carrier? I take her pram everywhere. I know what you are thinking, there are so many stairs in the market area? But Madinat Jumeriah management has got you covered. Their staff helps you take your pram up and down, isn’t it amazing? If not pram, I use Ergo Baby carrier which is totally worth a buy 😀
- Do I drive? Yes, totally. I put Athena in the car seat at the back and drive. But for this I make sure she is fed properly, her nappies are dry and she is asleep. In between if she starts crying for more food, I find a parking place and make sure she is OK and then drive again.
I feel, it’s all about seeing your baby smile and everything falls in place. Experiment a bit and you will crack the code of what works best for you. Don’t blame yourself for anything, like everyone you are learning too and so far doing a fantastic job 🙂 Please share your views and tips with me too, so we all can learn from each other. Mean while enjoy the photo gallery to see our experience.
The market opens from 3pm until midnight on weekdays and 1pm until midnight on weekends and will ensure a perfect family outing this festive season.
