Sensitive but worth writing. I know all of us, at some point of our lives have been body shamed. May be too skinny, may just gaining weight randomly, or obesity is our worst nightmare. In my opinion, passing even a random comment on your friends’ body is also body shaming. You ask me why? Because its personal. Until and unless your dear friends ask you for help, don’t give random advises.
But this is not why I am writing this, the only reason to pen down this is because of the dilemma we all go through while expecting. I always think why some people gain a lot of weight while expecting and some just have a bump? Well, every body is different and respond differently to certain things. Even though the mommy knows, she is carrying a little angel but weight and physical appearance can sometimes really jolt the expectant mom. So my dear Mommy-To-be’s; please don’t do this to yourself. Especially, when you are on such an amazing journey.
I will talk about my self, I come from a background where we do gain weight and look plum, from every angle 😛 . So, people started to comment, oh you have gained weight, please do not eat too much, you should eat healthy, you should eat salads, you should exercise, blah blah 😛 and many more blahssssss……
Haha, it did trigger me at times, but then thanks to my little one, telling me again and again “Mommy I will help you get back in shape when I am out” <3 … Trust me give yourself a break, this is the best time of your life and these months are the best to treat yourself royally. I am not saying that you should just go out of the board and do everything that can hinder your health, just be yourself and don’t let these negative comments or thoughts haunt you.
These are the few things that helped me through my expectant tenure
My Husband … yes that’s true. He is my biggest support system, he actually enjoyed me being round more than me.
My Baby … and yes that’s true as well.. My darling talks to me and tells me over and over again that “Weight gain no worries mom, I will get you fit ;)”
Don’t bother… please do not bother people telling you anything about your weight, unless they say “you look really cute” 😛
Dress to Impress … well well, isn’t it amazing to flaunt your baby bump and look unique while walking amongst all! StandOUT 😉
You are getting rewarded, no gain without pain right? So Always remember your little bundle of joy will be with you soon, and that’s the best gain party you will ever have.
Enjoy every bit of it my bumpy friends, its a bliss no one can ever give you.
